​The Best of the Classic and Modern Big Bands 

That sound!  The irresistible sound of soaring trumpets, robust trombones, wailing saxophones and swinging rhythm section…the live sound of the Jazz Consortium Big Band.  The Jazz Consortium Big Band is a swinging, rocking, roaring 17-piece Chicago big band that celebrates the best Swing and Jazz-Rock big band music live.

Since its inception in 1975, the Jazz Consortium Big Band has featured well-known music from such iconic big bands as Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman and Glenn Miller, and contemporary big bands like Buddy Rich, Maynard Ferguson and Gordon Goodwin, plus original compositions by band members.

Led by Roy Vombrack, this Chicago area big band plays a variety of Jazz, Swing and Jazz-Rock music that appeals to all ages.  From the classic “In the Mood” to its Jazz-Rock interpretation of “Fanfare for the Common Man”, the Jazz Consortium Big Band is a crowd-pleasing choice for such occasions as:
